Stewardship
STEWARDSHIP DURING COVID We live in the strangest of times. We remember those who have died, and whose loved ones have died, and commend them into the hands of our Lord. It seems almost trivial to be thinking about money at such a time, but, as with other churches, and within the broad church communion, we need a stable financial basis in order to reach out to our own congregation, to our local community and to the worldwide community, especially now. If you already make your regular giving to St Michael’s by standing order or Parish Giving, those payments will have continued through this period of closed churches. It might seem like a small amount for anybody at the time, but collections normally taken during services actually add up to nearly 10% of our contribution to the Common Fund – a payment which we are obliged to make in order to keep the Church of England running. https://www.london.anglican.org/support/finance/common-fund/ We know that many of you are giving more to charities at this time, with so many needs being thrown into sharp relief, but hope that you can still continue making donations to the church, the same as you would be doing if you could attend the Sunday Service and contributing to the collection plate. In most cases, if you are a UK taxpayer we will be able to receive Gift Aid on your donation, which means that the amount of your donation will be increased by 25%. Here are some ways in which you can contribute:
This is the best way to make regular contributions. https://www.parishgiving.org.uk/donors/find-your-parish/mill-hill-st-michael-mill-hill/ or call 0333 002 1271 and quote our parish reference number 230623314. You will have to complete a standing order mandate and send it to your bank. You can send a cheque to us, or make a bank transfer to: PCC of St Michael and All Angels Mill Hill If you include a Gift Aid declaration, or have made one before, we will be able to claim Gift Aid. Donations can be made online at https://givealittle.co/campaigns/5a887dea-0167-4937-b94d-f6446742cb22 The standard donations are £5, £10 and £20, but you can choose any amount you like from a minimum of £1 – and there is no upper limit! At the moment we can’t pass around a collection plate during services in the church. St Michael's is registered as a charity with Amazon Smile, so if you buy anything at all from Amazon we can receive a donation at no extra cost to you. |
